Aside from the simple fact that it’s more fun, the Graphics Interchange Format has some limitations that make it unsuitable for certain applications. It doesn’t work very well at all for photographic images, and it only has very basic transparency support. JPEG is far better for photographs, and PNG for images with flatter colors. (more…)
Combinators describe the relationship between CSS selectors, and they’re commonly used to combine two or more selectors into a more specific selector. Examples of combinators are the greater-than sign (>), plus sign (+), and tilde symbol (~).
